Resumo: It is a historical retrospective on humanity 's interest in stocking knowledge, contextualizedin the cultural aspects of each period. The supply of the information is discussed under thefocus of a continuous production ofknowledge, emphasizing the specializations that resultin different kinds of stocks in the supply of different types of information. There is a reflectionabout the use of information in industry, highlighting several issues related to obstaelesand to the otimization ofthis process in the productive area.
