RELIGIOUS EDUCATION AND PUBLIC SCHOOL: WHAT DO THE SURVEYS SAY?

Resumo: This text aims to analyze the relations of Religious Education in Brazilian public schools from scientific articles published in the Journal Portal of the Coordi­nation for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), between the years 2016 to 2020. The methodology consists of a qualitative research, of bibliographic character, called “State of knowledge”. It is worth noting that the theorists who support the discussions in this investigation are: Diniz; Lionço and Carrião (2010), Pas­sos (2007), Pozzer & Wickert (2015), Scussel (2013), among others. The results allowed for reflection on aspects that concern the discussion about Religious Education, as well as the understanding of the need for its presence in Brazilian public schools, a situation that involves a complex and heated discussion that must be taken into consideration numerous particularities, namely: historical, philosophical, legal, political and cultural. Another highlighted point is the in­stability that borders the political sphere in our country with regard to educa­tion, it is more than necessary for the State to be lucid in what is actually allowed in public schools, taking into account what the current Constitution defends and the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education.

A metodologia consiste em uma pesquisa qualitativa, de caráter bibliográfico, denominada de “Estado do conhecimento”. É oportuno destacar que os teóricos que sustentaram as discussões nessa investigação, são: Diniz; Lionço e Carrião (2010), Passos (2007), Pozzer & Wickert (2015), Scussel (2013), dentre outros. Os resultados proporcionaram refletir aspectos que dizem respeito a discussão sobre o Ensino Religioso, assim como a compreensão da necessidade da sua presença nas escolas públicas brasileiras, situação que envolve uma complexa e acalorada discussão que deve levar em considerações inúmeras particularidades sejam elas: históricas, filosóficas, jurídicas, políticas e culturais.
