LGBTQIA+ JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS IN BRAZIL: EMERGENCE, GOALS AND PERSPECTIVES

The present work envisions the issues of religion and gender from a Jewish point of view. It is intended to analyze how the newly created Jewish organizations LGBTQIA+, Hineni, MOV.LGBTQIA+, Gaavah and Moishe House, have sought to achieve their goals. The investigation presented here starts from a qualitative approach, since it opens up to a perspective of gender and religious studies, constituting itself as an analysis that inserts and contemplates culture. A bibliographic review is intended on LGBTQIA+ Jewish organizations, seeking to highlight and understand how contemporary Judaism faces this issue and how it deals with the social dynamics related to it. The fact is that we have made advances such as a growing awareness and concern for these minorities, proof of which is the very creation of these organizations, but we have also had difficulties in promoting an advance and homogenization of these changes in the Jewish environment. A recurrent, constant and continuous observation of this process is recommended for future conclusions.
