Resumo: The article intends to identify which are the aesthetic, philosophical, ethical and theological assumptions that animate the conception of the poet self and the writing activity that is evidenced in Adélia Prado’s interviews and how, in these interviews, the author perceives poetic writing, its relevance, value and significance in contemporary times. For this, several interviews given by Adélia Prado in different media were analysed, especially metalinguistic statements contained in them, and collated with the author’s also metalinguistic poems. It concludes that there is great coherence between Adelia’s metalinguistic poetry and the statements made by interviewees about their own poetic work and poetry in general.

Para isso foram analisadas diversas entrevistas dadas por Adélia Prado em diferentes mídias, em especial afirmações metalinguísticas contidas nelas, e cotejadas com poemas também metalinguísticos da autora.
