The purpose of this text is to deal with some of the main conceptions of the memoirs and its manifestation in the Literature and in the culture, understanding memoirs as register of the lived, preservation and image rescue or reconstruction of the human experience. The memoirist gender has the status of reference texts that report the trajectory of a life, and are documents that “serve”, first the History. What allows its study in the set of fictional Literature is the language force of some texts and its capacity of impose itselves as a discourse aesthetically drawn. It is in the recreation, in the transformation of the recalling in language that arises the “poetic oportunity”. Its while language production that the memoirist report overcome its historical feature and sees itself as fiction. For this purpose, we present a review of the literature on theoretical concerning to the studies about memoirs and authorship from Santo Agostinho (n/d), Henry Bergson (1990), Maurice Halbwachs (1990) and Philippe Lejeune (1983).O Gênero Memorialístico na Literatura e na Cultura: reconstrução da experiência humana Este texto se propõe a abordar algumas das principais concepções de memória e suas manifestações na literatura e na cultura, entendendo memória como registro do vivido, preservação e resgate de imagens ou reconstrução da experiência humana. O gênero memorialístico insere-se no estatuto de textos referenciais que relatam a trajetória de uma vida, são documentos que servem, inicialmente, à história. O que possibilita o seu estudo no conjunto da literatura ficcional é a força da linguagem de alguns textos e sua capacidade de se imporem como discurso esteticamente elaborado. na recriação, na transformação da rememoração em linguagem que surge a "oportunidade poética". enquanto produção de linguagem que o relato memorialístico ultrapassa o seu caráter histórico e se vê como ficção. Para isto apresenta-se uma revisão de leitura sobre aportes teóricos referentes aos estudos sobre memória e autoria a partir de Santo Agostinho (s/d), Henri Bergson (1990), Maurice Halbwachs (1990) e Philippe Lejeune (1983).
