Resumo: The idea of ​​vulnerability is still inadequately explored by Law, since current legislation and the interpretive activity do not contemplate, in depth, its multiple dimensions of manifestation in the scope of existential legal situations. Adequate understanding of the multiple dimensions of vulnerability influences the correct assessment of the autonomy condition of the subject who decides, as it reflects his/her personality. Therefore, it is essential to incorporate the different possibilities regarding the incidence of vulnerabilities in relationships that involve decisions about the beginning, end and continuity of life, health and body. Vulnerability should not be, on the other hand, an element presumably capable of nullifying autonomy, but a presupposition that legitimizes it. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the different dimensions of vulnerability and its influence in the context of decisions concerning existential legal situations. This article is a qualitative bibliographic research developed through the analytical-discursive method.

This article is a qualitative bibliographic research developed through the analytical-discursive method.A ideia de vulnerabilidade ainda se apresenta inadequadamente explorada pelo Direito, visto que a legislação atual e a atividade interpretativa não contemplam, de forma aprofundada, suas múltiplas dimensões de manifestação no âmbito das situações jurídicas existenciais. A compreensão adequada das dimensões múltiplas da vulnerabilidade influencia a aferição correta da condição de autonomia do sujeito que decide, na medida em que reflete sua pessoalidade. Torna-se, então, fundamental incorporar as possibilidades distintas quanto à incidência das vulnerabilidades nas relações que envolvem decisões sobre início, fim e continuidade da vida, saúde e corpo. A vulnerabilidade não deve ser, por outro lado, elemento presumidamente capaz de anular a autonomia, mas pressuposto que a legitima. Tem-se como objetivo principal desse escrito analisar as dimensões distintas da vulnerabilidade e sua influência no âmbito das decisões concernentes às situações jurídicas existenciais.
