Resumo: Dentre as características fundamentais do humano, que o diferenciam das demais criaturas, duas (entre várias) podem ser destacadas, a saber, a sensibilidade para com o belo e a sensibilidade para com o transcendente. Da sensibilidade para com o belo ocupa-se o ramo da filosofia conhecido como estética. Da sensibilidade para com o transcendente ocupam-se os estudos de religião, dentre estes, a teologia. O presente artigo pretende apresentar, sem pretensão de dar a última palavra, alguns apontamentos a respeito de uma aproximação entre teologia e estética, especificamente em perspectiva da teologia protestante.

The field of philosophy which deals with beauty is known as aesthetics, and the field of knowledge which deals with the transcendent is the religious studies, and among it, theology.
