Resumo: In this study, based on the assumptions of Discourse Analysis and its relations with the History of Linguistic Ideas (ORLANDI, 2001), we propose to analyze the functioning of the word language based on publications in/of  Revista Scripta to, then, propose the history of this word in the Magazine in question. In view of this objective, we carried out a very specific cut: we consulted the Revista website in order to locate all the texts produced by Ângela Vaz Leão, considering from the first publication of the Revista, carried out in 1997 and organized by the teacher from Minas Gerais, to the current, dated 2022. In this movement, we risked the difficult and pleasurable task of weaving a tribute to Dona Ângela, a linguistic historiographer who (us) is so important to Brazilian studies. Our focus is, therefore, on the mobilization of the word language that builds discursive layers in/by which the history of this word within the language is being woven.

À vista desse objetivo, realizamos um recorte bem específico: consultamos o site da Revista a fim de localizar todos os textos produzidos por Ângela Vaz Leão, considerando desde a primeira publicação da Revista, realizada no ano de 1997 e organizada pela professora mineira, até a atual, datada de 2022. Nesse movimento, nos arriscamos na difícil e prazerosa tarefa de tecer uma homenagem à Dona Ângela, historiógrafa linguística que tanto (nos) importa aos estudos brasileiros.
