Resumo: | This essay aims to analyze two reading scenes from the autobiographical novel Infância by Graciliano Ramos (1977) in which the reading and the relation between the protagonist narrator and the act of reading is emphasize. Based on the reading perspectives of authors such as Michèle Petit (2009), Regina Zilberman and Marisa Lajolo (1988), the conclusions about the analysis of the reading scenes in Infância point to a social valuation of the act of reading, but also to the presence of conservative didactic materials and teaching methodologies present for a long time in the school scene of our country. It was possible to identify in the character's experience what Roland Barthes (2004) calls the pleasure of reading, and verifying the presence of reading as a space for the subject to inhabit. The conclusion, therefore, is that reading scenes, both in and out of literature, are materials capable of provoking deep reflections on the act of reading and on the subjects' relationship with reading and also with writing. |

A partir das perspectivas de leitura de autores como Michèle Petit (2009), Regina Zilberman e Marisa Lajolo (1988), as conclusões acerca da análise das cenas de leitura em Infância apontam para uma valorização social do ato de ler, ao mesmo tempo em que apresentam a presença de materiais didáticos e metodologias de ensino conservadores, presentes durante muito tempo na cena escolar do nosso país. Também foi possível identificar na experiência da personagem aquilo que Roland Barthes (2004) chama de o prazer de ler, além de verificar a presença da leitura como um espaço para que o sujeito possa habitar.
