Resumo: The aim of this paper is, by observing some aspects of the metaphorical language of the Apostle John, to present a methodological test of the Conceptual Metaphor Theory in order to elaborate a reading key to the term "God" in the Fourth Gospel, which takes into account the cognitive notion of metaphorical processing.
