Resumo: A dissertação tem como objetivo central o estudo da produção poéticamusical de Renato Russo e Cazuza, os mais significativos nomes do rock brasileiro dos anos 1980. Representantes do que pode ser chamada de uma poética à margem, os dois letristas expressam em suas canções as posturas críticas e contraculturais que marcaram a década. A leitura da obra de ambos apóia-se no mapeamento e discussão do contexto daquele momento histórico.

Both stand to what may be considered a poetics of the margin, and also both lyricists express by means of their songs critical and countercultural positions that have marked that decade.
