Proximity and television spaces in regional television journalism: The case of MG1 Zona da Mata

Resumo: This paper reflects and problematizes on the theoretical perspectives that propose to organize / conceptualize local and regional journalism, such as from Communication Geography and Sociology. The notion of proximity is discussed as a relation between the user and the television spaces of regional news. In order to reflect about its application in empirics, four analytical operators were developed: participation channels, scenic space, themes and rhetoric of direct transmission. The analysis was performed through the visualization of twelve editions of Praça 1 MG1 exhibit by TV Integração Zona da Mata and Campo das Vertentes region of Minas Gerais state, Brazil. It was identified that the performance of journalists, the organization of the editorials, the present effect and the inclusion of cultural values that permeate society act as symbolic aspects in the proximity relations of regional television news.

La noción de proximidad se discute como una relación entre el usuario y los espacios televisivos de noticias regionales. Para reflexionar sobre su aplicación en empírica, se desarrollan cuatro operadores analíticos: canales de participación, espacio escénico, temas y retórica de transmisión directa. El análisis se realizó a través de la visualización de doce ediciones del Praça 1 MG1 de TV Integração Zona da Mata y Campo das Vertentes del estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Se identificó que el desempeño de los periodistas, la organización de los editoriales, el efecto presente y la inclusión de valores culturales que impregnan la sociedad actúan como marcadores simbólicos en las relaciones de proximidad de las noticias de televisión regionales.O artigo reflete e problematiza as perspectivas teóricas que se propõem a organizar e a conceituar os jornalismos locais e regionais, como as oriundas da Geografia, da Comunicação e da Sociologia. A noção de proximidade é discutida enquanto uma relação entre o usuário e os espaços televisivos de noticiários regionais. Com o intuito de refletir sobre sua aplicação na empiria, são desenvolvidos quatro operadores analíticos: canais de participação, espaço cênico, editorias/temáticas e retórica da transmissão direta. A análise foi realizada por meio da visualização de 12 edições do Praça 1 MG1 da TV Integração Zona da Mata e Campo das Vertentes de Minas Gerais.
