Productive circuit of the Agência Pública and the possibilities for the expansion of freedoms

Resumo: Experiences of journalistic production alternatives to the hegemonic model have been recorded for at least a century in Brazil. Among the contemporary representatives of this journalistic practice is the agency of investigative reporting Pública. The article seeks to understand the proposal of production of the Agência Pública and its possible autonomy in the production of contents, examining the possibility of the content conveyed by the agency potentially contribute to the expansion of individual freedoms, proposed by Amartya Sen (2010), able to lead to the development of society. Circuit of culture, by Richard Johnson (2010), with predefined categories, is used as the theoretical-methodological protocol. It’s used interview and documentary analysis. The research concludes that the productive strategy of Pública, to operate with autonomy in relation to publicity and non-profit, with free distribution of the content and having as focus the exposition of the fragilities of the Brazilian social reality, materialized in an analyzed article, can contribute to the expansion of freedoms.

Entre los representantes contemporáneos de esta práctica periodística está la agencia de reportajes investigativos Pública. El artículo busca comprender la propuesta de producción de la Agencia Pública y su posible autonomía en la producción de contenidos, examinando la posibilidad del contenido vehiculado por la agencia potencialmente contribuir a la expansión de las libertades individuales, propuestas por Amartya Sen (2010), capaces de llevar al desarrollo de la sociedad. Se utiliza como protocolo teórico-metodológico el circuito de la cultura, de Richard Johnson (2010), con categorías predefinidas. Se utiliza la entrevista y el análisis documental. La investigación concluye que la estrategia productiva de Pública, de operar con autonomía en relación a la publicidad y sin fines de lucro, con distribución gratuita del contenido y teniendo como foco la exposición de las fragilidades de la realidad social brasileña, materializada en un reportaje analizado, puede contribuir a la expansión de las libertades.Experiências de produção jornalísticas alternativas ao modelo hegemônico são registradas há pelo menos um século no Brasil. Entre os representantes contemporâneos dessa prática jornalística está a agência de reportagens investigativas Pública. O artigo busca compreender a proposta de produção da Agência Pública e sua possível autonomia na produção de conteúdos, examinando a possibilidade do conteúdo veiculado pela agência potencialmente contribuir para expansão das liberdades individuais, propostas por Amartya Sen (2010), capazes de levar ao desenvolvimento da sociedade. Utiliza-se como protocolo teórico-metodológico o circuito da cultura, de Richard Johnson (2010), com categorias pré-definidas. Faz-se uso da entrevista e da análise documental.
