Resumo: | The history of twentieth-century Latin America refers to the role of radio in those societies. What imaginary circulated about the vehicle and were apprehended by fiction? To answer this question is the purpose of this paper through the analysis of four novels and a short story in Latin America, where it is a reflection on the imaginary and also about the role of radio. We conclude that the imaginary circulating in the different contexts of the period was captured and recorded by writers of fiction who, by producing their stories, drew a picture of the reality of the different countries of Latin America. And the radio disseminating their messages reflecting local realities showed that certain applicants were imaginary: affective relationships, loneliness, professional activity in the radio and, in particular, the situation of women in the labor market. |

Responder a esta cuestión es la propuesta de este artículo, a través del análisis de cuatro romances y un cuento latinoamericanos, donde se hace una reflexión sobre el imaginario y, también, sobre el papel de la radio. Se concluye que el imaginario circulante en los diferentes contextos del período era captado y registrado por los escritores de ficción que, al producir sus historias, trazaban un panorama de la realidad de los diferentes países de América Latina. Y la radio, al difundir sus mensajes traduciendo realidades locales, mostraba que ciertos imaginarios eran recurrentes: las relaciones afectivas, la soledad, la actividad profesional en la radio latinoamericana y, también, la situación de las mujeres en ese mercado de trabajo.A história da América Latina do século XX remete ao papel do rádio nessas sociedades. Quais imaginários circulavam a respeito do veículo e que foram apreendidos pela ficção? Responder a esta questão é a proposta deste artigo através da análise de quatro romances e um conto latino-americanos, onde é feita uma reflexão sobre o imaginário e, também, sobre o papel do rádio. Conclui-se que o imaginário circulante nos diferentes contextos do período era captado e registrado pelos escritores de ficção que, ao produzirem as suas histórias, traçavam um panorama da realidade dos diferentes países da América Latina.
