About places of crime and punishment: periphery and colonial imaginary

Resumo: | The discussion about imaginary promotes an approach with values, its subjective and affective mechanisms in media texts of different genres such as news and movies. In the paper the relevance of cronotopo category is crafted to address the specific way of dealing with events in peripheral areas, while seeking to subvert the premise of objectivity in its production. In the case of journalistic news and national films on national and metropolitan peripheries there is an exploration of spatiality as places that repeatedly evoke an alleged crimes and prescribing corresponding punishment. As a result, we find the precedence of the colonial imagination as a necessary mediation and allocation source of meaning in media texts, which allows for a check to its uniqueness and its apparent linearity. |

Se trabaja la pertinencia de la categoría de cronotopo para abordar la forma específica de tratar narrativas sobre acontecimientos ocurridos en espacios periféricos, al mismo tiempo que se busca subvertir la premisa de la objetividad en su producción. En el caso del noticiero periodístico y filmes nacionales sobre las periferias nacionales y metropolitanas, hay una exploración de su espacialidad en cuanto lugares que recurrentemente evocan crímenes y una supuesta prescripción de correspondientes castigos. Como resultado, encontramos la precedencia del imaginario colonial en cuanto mediación necesaria y fuente de dotación de sentido en los textos mediáticos, lo cual permite poner en duda su unicidad y su linealidad aparentes. A discussão do imaginário promove uma aproximação com valores, seus mecanismos subjetivos e afetivos em textos midiáticos de gêneros distintos como o noticiário e o cinema. Trabalha-se a pertinência da categoria de cronotopo para abordar a forma específica de tratar narrativas sobre acontecimentos ocorridos em espaços periféricos, ao mesmo tempo em que se busca subverter a premissa da objetividade na sua produção. No caso do noticiário jornalístico e filmes nacionais sobre as periferias nacionais e metropolitanas há uma exploração de sua espacialidade enquanto lugares que recorrentemente evocam crimes e uma suposta prescrição de correspondentes castigos.
