Resumo: In this article we seek to update the historical notion of witch, from a comparative analysis between the movie The Juniper Tree, by Nietzchka Keene (1990), and the short story that inspires it, The Juniper, by the Brothers Grimm. The purpose is to show how the film, by pointing to the out-of-field of the witch-hunt phenomenon, through not only the narrative and mise-en-scène, but the melancholy that institutes the cinematographic ambience, displaces the misogyny of the short story. giving way to the pragmatic and animist condition of witchcraft. In the ambiguities of the characters, there still remains a feminist perspective that we call becoming-witch.

Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2024-02-08info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/article/view/4398510.15448/1980-3729.2023.1.43985Revista FAMECOS; Vol. 31 No. 1 (2024): Single Volume - Continuous flow; e43985Revista FAMECOS; Vol. 31 Núm. 1 (2024): Volumen Único - Flujo continuo; e43985Revista FAMECOS; v. 31 n. 1 (2024): Volume único - Fluxo contínuo; e439851980-37291415-0549reponame:Revista FAMECOS: Mídia cultura e tecnologiainstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/article/view/43985/28462Copyright (c) 2024 Revista FAMECOShttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVeiga, Roberta2024-04-09T14:35:35Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/43985Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecosPRIhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/oai||revistafamecos@gmail.com1980-37291980-3729opendoar:2024-04-09T14:35:35Revista FAMECOS: Mídia cultura e tecnologia - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
