Resumo: This paper is the result of maturation of a research project that studies the mitopoéticas interpreted by accountants of "cause" and the island of assombrações João Pilatos - Ananindeua Pa -. Perceived as subjects of meanings of habitats, of diffuse offers free choices and, thus, subject border. Stories such as curupira rapist, show through the imagery of social actors, their negotiations with the daily life. These cultural landscapes under the gaze of epistemology really sensitive to differences, demystifying exotic visions, reductionist and arrogant on the issue.

Percebidos como sujeitos de habitats de significados, de ofertas difusas e escolhas livres, sendo assim fronteiriços. Histórias, como a do curupira estuprador, revelam, através do imaginário destes atores sociais, suas negociações diárias com a vida.
