Resumo: Firstly, the aim of this paper is to provide a critical overview of the studies concerning types of causatives in natural languages and to approach three types of causatives in Japanese language, namely, lexical causatives (improductives), syntactic causatives (productives), zero-driven causatives, and focus on its idiomatic phenomena seeking a greater contribution to the study of the grammatical structures of this language.
