Resumo: The aim of this study is to analyze in Vimala Devi’s short story Nâttak (1963), inserted in the Hindu cultural landscape of Goa, former Portuguese colony in the Indian Ocean, the illicit relationship of the Zayú dancer with Babú Candolcar and the social and psychological marks in the descendants: Durgá, the admirer of popular theater, and Tukaram, the protagonist of the rasa of love, Gitagovinda, Jayadeva’s song-poem (early 13th century), which chronicles the affections of the Krishna deity with the shepperdess Râda. The photograph of the famous dancer, the girl’s mother, evokes in the young artist a terrible feeling of interdiction, which will be interpreted, according to the conceptions of Aristotle (peripecia and anagnorise), Sigmund Freud (incest) and Claude Lévi-Strauss (taboo).

A fotografia da célebre dançarina, mãe da moça, evoca no jovem artista um terrível sentimento de interdito, que será interpretado, segundo as concepções de Aristóteles (peripécia e anagnórise), de Sigmund Freud (incesto) e de Claude Lévi-Strauss (tabu).Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2021-08-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/navegacoes/article/view/3718810.15448/1983-4276.2021.1.37188Navegações; Vol. 14 No. 1 (2021); e37188Navegações; v. 14 n. 1 (2021); e371881983-42761982-852710.15448/1983-4276.2021.1reponame:Navegações (Online)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/navegacoes/article/view/37188/26836Copyright (c) 2021 Navegaçõeshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRocha, Denise Rocha, Kleber Bezerra2021-08-18T16:53:47Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/37188Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/navegacoesPRIhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/navegacoes/oai||revistanavegacoes@pucrs.br1983-42761982-8527opendoar:2021-08-18T16:53:47Navegações (Online) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
