Resumo: The article deals with the catira, also known as breganha, among the Calon Romanies, a system of exchanges that puts things and people in constant movement. It is argued that the entire production of relations among Calon, and between Calon and non-Romani follows the logic of the catira, always involving a game of negotiations, a chaining of exchanges, and the production and actualization of bonds between exchange partners. Some rules and the margins of advantage are a subject of change, since they depend on whether the partner is a non-Romani or a relative. In any situation, however, keeping one's word (palavra) is of paramount important.

Se argumenta que toda la producción de relaciones entre gitanos, y entre gitanos y no gitanos, sigue la lógica de la catira, implicando siempre un juego de negociaciones, una cadena de intercambios y la producción y actualización de vínculos entre socios. Sin embargo, algunas reglas y los márgenes de ventaja cambian, dependiendo de si la pareja es un no gitano o un familiar gitano; la importancia en cualquier situación de mantener la palabra dada permanece inalterada.O artigo trata da catira entre os ciganos calon, também chamada breganha, um sistema de trocas que coloca coisas e pessoas em constante movimento. Argumenta-se que toda a produção de relações entre ciganos, e entre ciganos e não ciganos segue a lógica da catira, envolvendo sempre um jogo de negociações, um encadeamento de intercâmbios e a produção e atualização de vínculos entre os parceiros.
