Resumo: The anti-aging program, like other life extension programs, is a historical precipitation of a long process of technological conquering over death. In its horizon of expectations, there is not only the widening of the timespan between birth and death, but also the elimination of the experience of decay and loss of vitality throughout the life-course. But anti-aging also comprises a form of relationship with death: not as a final event, but as an object of consciousness, that is, as a presence in life. Anti-aging reconfigures the presence of death in life in two ways: first, it displaces death from the field of destiny to the field of human deliberation, and second, it identifies the human body as a barrier to the full realization of life and as an ultimate source of risk.

En su horizonte de expectativas, no sólo se amplía el tiempo entre el nacimiento y la muerte, sino que también se elimina la experiencia de decadencia y pérdida de vitalidad durante el curso de vida. Pero al mismo tiempo el antienvejecimiento también comprende una forma de relación con la muerte: no como un acontecimiento final, sino como un objeto de conciencia, es decir, como un aspecto presente en la vida. Así, el antienvejecimiento reconfigura la presencia de la muerte en la vida de dos maneras: en primer lugar, desplaza la muerte desde el campo del destino al campo de la deliberación humana y, en segundo lugar, identifica el cuerpo humano como una barrera para la plena realización de la vida a la vez que como última fuente de riesgo.O programa anti-aging, assim como outros programas de prolongamento da vida, é a precipitação histórica de um longo processo de conquistas tecnológicas sobre a morte. Em seu horizonte de expectativas, prospecta-se não apenas o alargamento do tempo que decorre entre nascimento e morte, como também a eliminação da experiência de decaimento e da perda de vitalidade ao longo do curso da vida. Mas o anti-aging compreende também uma forma de relação com a morte: não enquanto evento final, mas como objeto da consciência, isto é, enquanto uma presença na vida.
