Resumo: | This article presents considerations about the way that the teachers conceive the images and how they use visual resources in their activities and projects, according to what was observed in a research which had been carried out with Elementary and High school teachers who work in public schools in Recife-Pernambuco. Out of this starting point, some questions about the use of technology in educational practices are arisen, in the perspective of discussing the power, which is imput to it, as a hypertextual experience inciter, aiming at inciting teachers to analyze, critically, the creation/re-invention of pedagogical strategies, which consider the pedagogical power of the not-verbal texts, especially the pictures. Key words – Education; Image; Technology; Hypertext.O artigo apresenta considerações acerca do modo como professores concebem as imagens e como utilizam os recursos visuais em suas ações e projetos, conforme observado em pesquisa realizada com professores de Ensino Fundamental e Médio da Rede Pública de Ensino do Recife/Pernambuco. A partir da pesquisa, são levantadas problematizações quanto ao uso da tecnologia na educação, na perspectiva de relativizar o papel que lhe é atribuído de promotora de experiências hipertextuais. São propostas ainda algumas reflexões com o objetivo de instigar os educadores a analisarem, criticamente, a criação/reinvenção de estratégias de educação, considerando a pedagogicidade dos textos não-verbais, em especial as imagens.
