Resumo: The aim of this paper is to recover and analyze some short stories written by Cândida Fortes, more specifically, the ones that were published in periodicals that are not remembered by biographers, in order to contribute to the insertion of the author in the history of literature and to an increase in her critical and biographical considerations. Feminist criticism and literary theory theoretical approaches were consulted for reaching this goal. The methodology used consists in bibliographical research and literary hermeneutics as a reading support. It was observed that this writer contributed to lots of periodicals that are not mentioned by scholars. Furthermore, even though she is rarely remembered as a writer of short stories, she demonstrates a high quality technique when writing in this genre, especially when dealing with language, time, space, and other aspects of creative writing.

Para tanto, se recurrió a aportes teóricos de la crítica feminista y de la teoría literaria. La metodología utilizada en este estudio consiste en investigación de revisión bibliográfica y hermenéutica literaria, como soporte para la lectura de los textos. Se verificó que la escritora contribuyó con diversos periódicos, que no son recordados por los biógrafos, y que, a pesar de raramente reconocida comoescritora de cuentos, posee dominio de la técnica para escribirlos, empleada con maestría en lo que respecta al lenguaje, al tiempo, al espacio y a otros aspectos de la creación literaria.O objetivo deste artigo é resgatar e analisar criticamente alguns contos de Cândida Fortes, que foram publicados em periódicos não mencionados por diversos estudiosos e biógrafos, a fim de contribuir para a sua inserção na história da literatura e para um aumento de sua fortuna crítica e biográfica. Para tanto, recorreu-se a aportes teóricos da crítica feminista e da teoria literária. A metodologia utilizada neste estudo consiste em pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica e hermenêutica literária, como suporte para a leitura dos textos.
