Helena Parente Cunha and Lucilene Machado: : Two experiences of narratives of the female body in the contemporary Brazilian tale

Resumo: Through the approximation of readings of short stories by two Brazilian writers, Helena Parente Cunha and Lucilene Machado Garcia Arf, this article deals with what we consider narratives of the female body, expanding the understanding of 'body' for its multiplicity of meanings and forms of constitution  , as a discourse and object traversed by discursiveness, by language, literally and metaphorically.  The proposal to read the short stories “O pai” (The father) and “Novembro em menos cores” (November in few colours) traces a symbolic path between time and narratives, with a focus on the writing process and the meanings of the text and authorship.  Throughout the considerations, the reflection also encompasses the process of narrative identification under construction, and highlights the strength and potency of contemporary Brazilian short story writers, in the figure of these two writers and their texts.

La propuesta de lectura de los cuentos “O pai” (El padre) y “Novembro em poucas cores” (Noviembre en pocos colores) delinea un trayecto simbólico entre tiempo y narrativa, con foco en el proceso de escritura y en los sentidos del texto y de autoria. En las consideraciones, la reflexión abarca el proceso de identificación en la narrativa en construcción, y reafirma la fuerza y la potencia de las escritoras brasileñas de relatos cortos.en la figura de essas dos autoras y sus textos.Através da aproximação de leituras de contos de duas escritoras brasileiras, Helena Parente Cunha e Lucilene Machado Garcia Arf, o presente artigo versa acerca do que consideramos narrativas do corpo feminino, ampliando a compreensão de ‘corpo’ para sua multiplicidade de sentidos e formas de constituição, enquanto discurso e objeto atravessado pela discursividade, pela linguagem, literal e metaforicamente. A proposta de leitura dos contos “O pai” e “Novembro em poucas cores” traça um percurso simbólico entre tempo e narrativas, com foco no processo da escrita e nos sentidos do texto e da autoria.
