Resumo: The text that follows is part of a postdoctoral research entitled “The Place of the Novel of Thirty of North East in Brazilian Historiography”. The main objective of this research was to problematize inaccurate denominations and classifications of works from the Northeast published in the 1930s and 1940s. The investigation is part of the current trend of seeking to specify sets of works and styles sheltered under coordinates, such as those of Naturalism and Regionalism. To support the discussion, the analysis of the novel was fundamental, in dialogue with the context of production of literary works and the cultural dynamics in Brazil, based on the idea of a novel from 30 of North East enshrined in historiography and literary cristicism.

El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue problematizar las denominaciones y clasificaciones imprecisas de las obras nordestinas publicadas en las décadas de 1930 y 1940. La investigación se enmarca en la tendencia actual de buscar precisar conjuntos de obras y estilos bajo la definición amplia de modernistas, con lo cual también otras coordenadas, como las del Naturalismo y el Regionalismo. Para sustentar la discusión, fue fundamental el análisis de la novela, en diálogo con el contexto de producción de obras literarias y la dinámica cultural en Brasil a partir de la idea de novela de los años 30 del Nordeste consagrada en la historiografía y la crítica literaria. O texto que segue é parte de uma pesquisa de pós-doutorado, intitulada “O Lugar do Romance de Trinta do Nordeste na Historiografia Brasileira”. O objetivo principal dessa pesquisa foi problematizar denominações e classificações pouco precisas de obras nordestinas publicadas nas décadas de 1930 e 1940. A investigação insere-se na tendência atual de buscar especificar conjuntos de obras e estilos abrigados sob a ampla definição de modernistas, com que desloca também outras coordenadas, como as do Naturalismo e do Regionalismo.
