Resumo: Conceiving a social doctrine to declare a social statute was the way found by the Catholic Church to open dialogues with modernity and assure its social legitimacy. Built on own contexts and fundamented on the principles of solidarity and cooperation, the study of social Catholicism, emerged in Germany and implemented in South Brazil, intends to evidente differences and establish relations between the German and South Brazilian social constructions.

Construido en contextos y con base en los principios de la solidaridad y de la cooperación, el estudio de catolicismo social, surgido en Alemania e implementado en el sur de Brasil, pretende poner de manifiesto las diferencias y establecer relaciones entre las construcciones sociales de Alemania y del Sur de Brasil.  Formular uma doutrina social para afirmar um estatuto social foi a forma encontrada pela Igreja Católica para abrir diálogo com a modernidade e assegurar sua legitimidade social.
