Resumo: | This article deals with aspects of the process of immigration to Rio de Janeiro between 1786 and 1844. Its sources are parish registers, inventories and passports. Migration played a very important role in the Portuguese Empire, and this tendency was intensified in Colonial and Imperial Brazil. |
