Resumo: This article examines on the novel Ciudad Berraca (2018) by the Chilean writer Rodrigo Ramos Bañados. This work’s fundamental concern is to reflect on the phenomenon of migration in northern Chile through the analysis of the previus novel. It is considered that the plot prioritizes human feelings through the experiences of the young protagonist contrasted with the discourses of power that are based on current Chilean society. This approach shows a context of job insecurity, social vulnerability, discrimination and class, making the subjects in question invisible.

La preocupación fundamental de este trabajo es reflexionar en torno al fenomeno de migración en el norte de Chile a través del analisis de la referida novela. Se considera que la trama prioriza el sentir humano mediante las experiencias del joven protagonista contrastado con los discursos de poder que se fundamentan en la sociedad chilena actual. Este enfoque evidencia un contexto de precariedad laboral, vulnerabilidad social, discriminación y clasismo invisibilizando a los sujetos en cuestión.Este artigo faz um estudo sobre o romance Ciudad Berraca (2018), do escritor chileno Rodrigo Ramos Bañados. A preocupação basilar deste trabalho é refletir sobre o fenômeno da migração no norte do Chile por meio da análise do referido romance.
