Resumo: In 1808, Portugal started to analyze its former interests and new possibilities in order to guarantee its hegemony in America and renewed economic measures to try to solve old problems. The purpose of this paper is to understand the way in which the Portuguese Crown, through diplomatic speculation available at the time, moved its newly installed political, economic and military apparatus in Brazil in order to expand its inaccurate southern borders to the Prata River as soon as the Portuguese Court arrived in American territory.

El propósito de este artículo es comprender la forma en que la corona portuguesa, a través de la especulación diplomática disponible en la época, trasladó su recién instalado aparato político, económico y militar en la colonia Brasil con el fin de ampliar sus fronteras meridionales inexactas hasta la zona del Río de la Plata después de la llegada de la corte portuguesa en territorio americano.Em 1808, interesses antigos, aliados às novas possibilidades começaram a ser analisados para que Portugal garantisse, além de sua hegemonia na América, medidas econômicas renovadas para tentar resolver velhos problemas.
