Political practice of the fishermen of community Z-16 as a resistance of Tucuruí’s hidroeletric effects

Resumo: We analyze here the effects of Tucurí’s Hydroelectric on the lives of fishermen from the community Z-16 in Cametá city (Pará). We are guided by the historic-dialectical materialism, supported by a qualitative approach. The devices of data collection follow the molds of a semi-structured interview. The analysis of the data met the recommendations of the analysis of contents. The lives of the studied people suffer serious consequences, with emphasis on the difficulties of producing food from fish, as well as the loss of identity of the fishermen, due to alterations in the socioeconomic, political, cultural, and environmental contexts. The political practice of fishermen enables them to conquer their rights against capital’s ideologies in the lower Tocantins region.

Nos hemos pautado en el materialismo histórico-dialéctico, bajo un abordaje cualitativo. Los instrumentos de colecta de datos siguieron los moldes de la entrevista semiestructurada. El análisis de los datos atendió a las recomendaciones de los análisis de contenido. La vida de los sujetos investigados sufre graves consecuencias, con destaque para las dificultades de producir alimentación a partir del pescado, así como la pérdida de identidad de los pescadores debido a alteraciones en los contextos socioeconómico, político, cultural y ambiental. La práctica política de los pescadores posibilita conquistar sus derechos contra las ideologías del capital en la región del bajo Tocantins. Analisam-se aqui os efeitos da Hidrelétrica de Tucuruí na vida dos pescadores da colônia Z-16 do município de Cametá (Pará). Pautamo-nos no materialismo histórico-dialético, com apoio da abordagem qualitativa. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados seguiram os moldes da entrevista semiestruturada. As análises dos dados atenderam a recomendações das análises de conteúdo. A vida dos sujeitos pesquisados sofre graves consequências, com destaque para as dificuldades de produzir alimentação a partir do pescado, assim como a perda da identidade dos pescadores devido a alterações nos contextos socioeconômico, político, cultural e ambiental.
