Socialism and democracy in the government programs of Salvador Allende and Hugo Chávez

Resumo: In this article, we have compared the Salvador Allende’s and Hugo Chávez’s discourses of socialism and democracy. We have used the government programs of both presidents as sources. To carry out the research, we have used the methodologies of discourse analysis and comparative history. We have concluded that both Allende and Chávez have constructed original discourses about socialism, which have been interconnected with democracy.

Usamos los programas de gobierno de ambos presidentes como fuentes. Para realizar la investigación, nos basamos en las metodologías de análisis del discurso y la historia comparada. Concluimos que tanto Allende como Chávez construyeron discursos originales sobre el socialismo, que se interconectaban con la democracia.No presente artigo, comparamos os discursos sobre socialismo e democracia de Salvador Allende no Chile e de Hugo Chávez na Venezuela. Utilizamos como fontes os programas de governo de ambos os presidentes. Para a realização da pesquisa, fundamentamo-nos nas metodologias da análise do discurso e da história comparada.
