Resumo: This paper deals about the debate that arosen in Germany after the u War World on the historical and/or theological contents of the Church's History. There is actually a discussion between the Church's History or the Religious History. The presentation is about the latest discussions on the II General Conferece: History of Latin America and Caribean Church, of Cehila, São Paulo (1995); they were gathered in Europe from the XVI International Theology Symposium, What is Church History, Pamplona (1995), and from the Symposium Religiosity and Historiography: the eruption of religious pluralism in Latin American, Köln (1996).

Se abordan las siguientes discusiones de la Segunda Conferencia General: Historia de la Iglesia en la América Latina y el Caribe, de Cehila, Sao Paulo (1995); compiladas en Europa en el XVI Simposio Internacional de Teología ¿Cuál es la historia de la Iglesia?, Pamplona (1995), y en el Simposio Religiosidad e Historiografía: la erupción del pluralismo religioso en la América Latina, Colonia (1996).O debate sobre o caráter histórico e/ou teológico da História da Igreja estalou na Alemanha depois da II Guerra Mundial. Hoje se discute sobre História da Igreja ou História religiosa.
