Resumo: During the 19th century, the Charrua and Minuano Indians participated actively in the definition of the national frontiers in the Prata region. The consolidation of the national States transformed these hunter-gatherers into out-laws, traitors and rebels. Only after their extinction, the Charrua and Minuano Indians were incorporated in the cultural identity of actual population and turned finto symbols of resistance and liberty.

La consolidación de los estados nacionales convirtió estos grupos de cazadores-recolectores en los elementos sociales considerados fuera de la ley, traidores y rebeldes. Sólo después de su exterminio, los Charrúa y Minuano se incorporaron a la identidad cultural de las poblaciones actuales y se convirtieron ensímbolo de la resistencia y la libertad de la población de Campanha.Durante o século XIX, os índios Charrua e Minuano participaram ativamente da fixação das fronteiras nacionais na região do Prata. A consolidação dos estados nacionais transformou estes grupos de caçadores-coletores em elementos sociais considerados fora-da-lei, traidores e rebeldes.
