Resumo: | Recent literature on the category of family farming has addressed the most diverse processes of change through which it has been subjected over the years. This article seeks to help understand how the succession process in family farming is taking place in the Litoral Norte region of Rio Grande do Sul, verifying the existence or not of a relationship with the teaching process offered by local schools. Specifically, the case of a possible relationship between polytechnic high school and family farming in the city of Itati-RS is analyzed. In this sense, the results emphasize that a significant portion of the students, linked to rural schools, admit that the introduction of contents focused on the themes of family farming and rural development would collaborate in the formation of their perspectives to study, and later work linked to agriculture family, thus remaining in rural areas. |

Este artigo busca auxiliar na compreensão de como está ocorrendo o processo de sucessão na agricultura familiar na região do Litoral Norte do Rio Grande do Sul, verificando a existência ou não de relação com o processo de ensino ofertado pelas escolas locais. Especificamente analisa-se o caso de uma possível relação do ensino médio politécnico com a agricultura familiar no município de Itati-RS.
