Profile of protesters for and against the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff in Porto Alegre

This quantitative research proposes to investigate the profile of protests against and in favor of the ex-president Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment and talks about the politic engagement of those protests at Porto Alegre, focuses the implications of the information and communication new technologies – in Portuguese TIC’s – present in the contestatory processes. This research’s context was 2016 when a questionnaire with 22 questions was elaborated on Google Forms and was disseminated in social networks, mainly in groups and events on Facebook. Based on the results, wich will be introduced in this paper, it was made a brief analysis of whose groups these protesters would belong, as well as some hypotheses based on a sociology of collective action and social movements.
