Resumo: The discussion on how to better protect human beings and their dignity from the injustices perpetrated by the economic inequality of different nations and societies has become a highlight of the international agenda since the end of the Cold War. In this context, Human Rights guidelines that previously were limited to the field of Environmental Law, as the human right to healthy environment, yet to be formally recognized, began to emerge within the framework of the United Nations. This article seeks to understand the connections between the two camps and whether the rights relating to the environment can or should be considered indivisible in relation to other human rights, as this is one of the conditions suggested by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The discussion proposed by this article is theoretical-conceptual and intends to provide greater clarity about the existing intersections between the two previously mentioned fields, and is developed through documental and bibliographic analysis.

Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2019-10-21info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/article/view/3308210.15448/2178-5694.2019.1.33082Conversas & Controvérsias; Vol. 6 No. 1 (2019): Dossier - International Relations and Environment; e33082Conversas & Controvérsias; v. 6 n. 1 (2019): Dossiê - Relações Internacionais e Meio Ambiente; e330822178-569410.15448/2178-5694.2019.1reponame:Conversas & Controvérsiasinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/article/view/33082/18630Copyright (c) 2019 Conversas & Controvérsiasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLoureiro, Gustavo do Amaral2019-11-04T18:45:47Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/33082Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/indexPUBhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/oaiteresa.marques@pucrs.br2178-56942178-5694opendoar:2019-11-04T18:45:47Conversas & Controvérsias - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
