Resumo: | Career pattern is an interesting methodological resource to produce portraits of career constructions. By interconnected goals, we aim at synthesizing the main career patterns described in the international literature; and qualitatively construct the narrative patterns of career construction of 46 Brazilian workers. Similarities and differences between the two taxonomies were analyzed. The literature described five career patterns (traditional/professional, flexible, transitional, social role balancing, and hybrid). And the study configured nine narrative patterns of career construction (organizational, professional, occupational, flexible, entrepreneurial, informal, transitional, liminal, and hybrid). Diversifying samples and research contexts is key to contextualizing theories and concepts and producing situated practices. |
