Resumo: The article presents and discusses the common denominators of recent publications in German that address epistemological questions and problems relevant to the identity and autonomy of the study of religion. It summarizes the results of a bibliographical research focusing on argumentative convergences among the consulted authors. The text is based on the hypothesis that the consensus identified in the respective publications is a consequence of collective efforts to confirm the status of the study of religion as an independent discipline.
