Resumo: The present reflection aims to combine the theoretical references of sociology and psychoanalysis around the human action theme. Taking as a reference some case studies presented, it was inquired about the work ethics and the admission of certain subjects to this lifestyle. It resumed the contributions of sociology as a science of culture in the understanding of the action; in particular, it discussed Max Weber's theoretical distillations on the Protestant Reformation and the building of a new social morality in which work takes a central position in the lives of subjects. The debate was concluded by presenting the limits of sociological explanation and the advances that psychoanalysis can present to the debate; in particular, the reflections on impulse, motivation, and enjoyment are resumed.
