Resumo: This article analyzes two Iranian films about banned music: No one knows about Persian Cats (Kasi Az Gorbehaye Irani Khabar Nadareth, 2009), by Bahman Ghobadi and Is not an illusion (Na Yek Tavahom, 2009), by Torang Abedian. To understand the importance of these films for the Iranian cinematography, it is necessary to comprehend how the censorship works in the country related both to cinema and music, due to the fact that the laws of the country have Islam as foundation and religion permeates the life and the behavior of its inhabitants.
