Resumo: | This paper presents and discusses results of a study that investigated the conceptions of chaplains on relationships between religiosity and mental health (MH) of those under their care. The descriptive-empiric-phenomenological nature research employed semi-structured interviews with 15 chaplains in the Federal District. After transcription and revision, they were analyzed according to the Giorgi’s method apprehending the meaning of the conceptions and experiences reported by the chaplains. Positive relationships between religiosity and MH were predominant, but they also pointed to negative, “double-edged sword” and nonlinear relationships. |

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2020-09-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/rever/article/view/5069510.23925/1677-1222.2020vol20i2a14REVER: Journal for the Study of Religion; Vol. 20 No. 2 (2020): Espiritualidade e saúde; 199-217REVER: Revista de Estudos da Religião; v. 20 n. 2 (2020): Espiritualidade e saúde; 199-2171677-1222reponame:Rever (São Paulo.
