"The informational war is as important as the battlefield war," emphasizes Professor Pedro Costa. From American hegemony to the repression of Ukrainian and Russian journalists, and the influence of major Western newspapers, from first-world countries, on second and third-world nations. The informational war between Russia and Ukraine has reinforced old stereotypes and beliefs about Russians, while also bringing forth different and false perspectives on the American and Ukrainian stances regarding the conflict, exacerbating historiographical and sociocultural conflicts in the Western regions of our globe. Did the media escalate the war instead of pacifying it? Were false pieces of information deliberately sold to sow chaos in the regions? How did some countries benefit from this? These and other topics were addressed and discussed to deconstruct old traditions and beliefs perpetuated, in part, by the press and major political leaders and nations since the last century. Therefore, the goal was not only to strengthen critical thinking but also to readjust old bonds of cultural identity lost during the many layers of information, as joumalism has always had the correct duty to exercise. To understand a story, we need to look at both sides of the coin and analyze which one is more transparent, and that's how this research proceeded
