This work aims to explore the way in which the temporality of productivity marks the expression of anguish in the contemporary subject. From the study of Sigmund Freud's two theories about anguish, his perceptions about the time of the subject of the unconscious and Jacques Lacan's considerations about logical time, we seek to understand how the time of hurry in contemporary days affects the way in which the subject deals with anguish and its crossing. In a society that requires subjects to be productive and offers multiple images and discourses as possibilities of enjoyment, the time to understand, that is the time of the subject of the unconscious, is compromised, removing the subject from his commitment to his own desire, a path that only becomes possible through the crossing of anguish
