The objective of this work is to analyze the implementation of neoliberal doctrine that expanded in several countries of the world until arriving in Brazil in the 1980s. A review of classics was initially carried out to understand the background of the doctrine, how it emerged and how it expanded internationally. Once the definition for the concept of neoliberalism is established, a reconstitution of the paths taken by doctrine more specifically in Brazil will be established, starting from the analysis of the first civilian government of José Sarney, where it can be noted some policies already considered neoliberal and that allowed its implementation more evident in the Collor and Itamar Franco government, seeking to understand thus the expansionism of neoliberal doctrine in the daily life of the Brazilian economy characterized by changes and continuities
