About 60 years after the celebration of the Second Vatican Council, it is necessary in the current ecclesiological context to rescue, celebrate and update what was once roused by the Holy Spirit for the life of the Church until our times. With regard to the Church, there were too many discussions by the Council Fathers and during Vatican II, their first discussions were about the scheme entitled “De Ecclesiae”, which with the passage of time and reflections reached the promulgation of the Dogmatic Constitution “Lumen Gentium”. Furthermore, with regard to this conciliar document, we would like to highlight its second chapter, entitled “People of God”. The Church is the new People of God, chosen and gathered by the Lord, just as Israel was in the Old Testament. While that first people walked towards Jerusalem, this one, now, walks towards the Celestial Jerusalem. It is of great importance to highlight that the priests elucidate that this people are not formed only from the hierarchy of the Church, that is, bishops, priests and deacons, but from all those who were immersed in the baptismal waters and, becoming adopted children, were incorporated members of the “People of God”, that is, of the Church. And all this people, in which there are bishops, priests, deacons, religious and lay people, are called to live the unity and synodality that is proper to the “People of God”
