The present study proposes to analyze the link between forced displacement and the emotional and psychological health of immigrants and, in particular, how this correlation is present in the Angolan community in Brazil in the current period - from 1990 to the present day. The choice of theme is justified by the need to better understand the impact of international migration on people's mental health and, within this purpose, Angolan migrants, who form an especially relevant community for the study for their large presence in Brazil to look for labour, but are in an unequal social position in opposition to other migrant communities. In addition, the analysis of this community helps to understand the intersectionality between racism, the migration process and the socioeconomic context. For this purpose, it will be used the perspective of social determinants of health and the Theory of Social Networks, with the aim of understanding forced displacement, health and reception policies from a more social and cultural perspective. Finally, to give the formulations a more practical dimension, it will also be analyzed the reports of the project Maré Angolana, from the organization Data Labe, which reveals the social dynamics and perceptions of Angolan migrants in the community of Maré, in Rio de Janeiro
