The present work, the first visitor research of the Holocaust Memorial, aims to outline quantitative and qualitative aspects involving visits of school and spontaneous groups. The applied methodology included bibliographic research, associated with the application of questionnaires and subsequent tabulation of data, and analysis of results. The theoretical framework departed from the institution foundation, as a synagogue at the beginning of the 20th century and as a museum a hundred years later, passing through the operation of other Brazilian and foreign museums, mainly those focused on the Jewish theme and the Holocaust, and the deepening of central subjects of Museum Studies, such as those aimed at audience research. The study resulted in the detailing of the profile of visitors to the Holocaust Memorial. Likewise, it brought to light the experience of professors, students and other audiences, thus contributing to the institutional improvement and to the development of the museological sector in general, in view of the directions suggested by reflections over the given answers by respondents
