The concept of solidarity is a fundamental aspect and central teaching of the Catholic Church's social doctrine. The concept is difficult to capture and understand in a simple definition because of the varied meaning and use of the term. Most of the time, the word is used without understanding the deep meaning of the concept. Our reflection is based on the Magisterium of Pope Francis, which calls for greater attention to communities among the marginalized in a profound opposition to a disposable culture. Forged from a methodology of bibliographic review, from a formal point of view, we ask: what is the dimension of solidarity that the Pope seeks to rescue in the Social Doctrine of the Church can teach us today? Pope Francis, based on the background analysis of his predecessors, tries to develop the Christological character of solidarity, clearly stated in Gaudium et Spes, the pastoral constitution of the Second Vatican Council, on the Church in the world today. Pope Francis uses the public place to proclaim and call for an ethic of inclusion and encounter. That is why he returns to a theology of solidarity focused so much on Jesus as a model, so that we can contribute to a less unfair and more inclusive world
