Interdisciplinaridade: entre o desejo e a prática dos profissionais do transplante cardíaco no Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia

This masters degree dissertation has the following general objectives: to analyze the interdisciplinary practice during these 13 years of cardiac transplantation at Dante Pazzanese Cardiology Institute IDPC. Its specific objectives are: to recover the cardiac transplantation history at IDPC; to analyse the perspectives of the professionals about their profession´s contribution, and the others regarding the interdisciplinary work; to analyze the Social Services contribution to the interdisciplinary practice. In the cardiac transplantation practice, that takes place inside a complex hospital structure, with professional teams of many fields of knowledge, it is necessary to analyze how these professionals take part of the institute´s decisions, and how the work democratization process is accomplished on this tertiary attention health level at IDPC. In order to consider the practice of the cardiac transplantation team as interdisciplinary, a practical and theoretical evaluation of its effectiveness in the Instiution is needed. We consider that we must know the Social Services involvement in the transplantation team as well. At the beginning of the research we asked the following questions: Is there, in fact, an interdisciplinary work in the team of IDPC? What do the professional team, that is composed by social workers, psychologists, physicians, nutritionists, understand as interdisciplinary work? In the professional evaluation, do the professionals take part of a interdisciplinary work in the transplantation team? The research was developed from a qualitative methodology, with a bibliographic research about the inter, multi and transdisciplinarity topics, specially in the health field, based on the theoretical production of many authors. In the field work we used: Oral history to recover the institutional history that did not have any previous written record, from semi-structured interviews with different professionals to our own nonsystemic participant observation. Achieved results: the team professionals express the desire of an interdisciplinary work, but the conditions and dynamics of the Institution do not favor the development of interdisciplinary experiences, and the professionals have very different conceprts regarding interdisciplinarity
