Resumo: The present research aims to analyze the current situation of the Pet Shops - stores specialized in offering products and services for domestic animals - market in Brazil. This theme was chosen because it is a promising field for the country's economy. According to data from Abinpet (Brazilian Association of the Pet Products Industry) there are 144.3 million animals in the country, with a predominance of dogs and cats. In 2018, Brazil reached the second place in the ranking of the main markets of the pet sector in the world. In 2019, this industry earned R$22.3 billion and in the following year, even with the Corona Virus crisis, this segment managed to grow, reaching a revenue of R$27.02 billion. It is concluded that this is a consolidated department and that it tends to continue expanding in the coming years. The methodology used was the bibliographic, that is, elaboration from previously published material. The analysis model used was the quali-quanti, that is, the junction of human investigations with figures
